IELTS test is available in two versions: - CD-IELTS (Computer-delivered- IELTS) and Paper based test. There are some noticeable differences between these two as in case of CD-IELTS, one needs to be proficient at typing because in every skill, one needs to attempt the test via screen and timer is there too. Whereas, in case of Paper based test, that is called traditional test also, one gets a bit extra time that can be considered a privilege. It all depends on a person’s choice that which version he would be choosing for, but one must practice accordingly since beginning.
There are two modules, one is Academic IELTS, another is General training IELTS. To go abroad for studying, one is required to clear Academic IELTS. Usually, the requirement is Overall 6/6.5 not less than 5. In order to work or get permanent residency of a foreign country, General training test has been formed and its requirement is different for different profiles. Generally, it is 8777 in case of PR (Permanent Residency) and Overall 6.5, not less than 6 to get opportunity to work.
IELTS includes four Skills: - Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. In all skills, students’ performance is analysed on the basis of certain factors related to English language and they are given bands out of 9.
This is a computerized test that has zero human intervention. It takes around two hours to complete this test.
There are three versions:
PTE Academic is accepted in different countries, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and United Kingdom and so on. PTE UKVI is accepted only in UK and particularly taken by those students only who have a dream to move UK. PTE home additions are comparatively less popular as universities and colleges give more preference to PTE Academic and PTE UKVI over PTE home.
